Nick ‘Scouse’ Brough was educated at Ramsey Grammar School which he left aged 15 to start his life at sea.  He started out as a Steward with the Isle of Man Steam Packet before joining the Royal Navy aged 17½ from 1976 – 1988.  Scouse served in the Submarine Service on P&O Class Diesel/Electric Boats.  His trade was Seaman/Sonar Operator.

After leaveing the Roayl Navey, he worked at Manx Airlines, BA & Flybe.  Later in his career he moved to Nobles Hospital as a Telephonist.

After I retired I found I had nothing to do until HOW (IOM) was mentioned to me.  It gave me a reason to get out of bed.  It gave me a purpose and I became a Volunteer.

I enjoy meeting people to share with them the HOW (IOM) Charity, what it offers and how it’s helped me.
